How to Use Level of Effort in FedScout
If you are on a Growth plan or higher, FedScout will automatically estimate the effort to pursue each particular RFP. FedScout does this by looking at the length of the RFP, the estimated length of the proposal, and the amount of time you’re likely to spend engaging with teammates and the customer to generate an estimate for the hours it will take. Then FedScout uses industry average wages for proposal writers, capture managers, etc to convert the hours estimate into a cost.
For example, FedScout may assess that it will take you 150 hours to pursue an RFP and that the value of those 150 hours is about $7,000. This is all in the spirit of helping you get very directional understanding of whether “the juice is worth the squeeze.”
